My October glam bag from Ipsy is here,
and I am loving it!
As you can see, I received 6 items this time, instead of the usual 5, but I will get more into that later.
First off, let me say, ever since the
Ipsy X Gudetama collab,
I feel like the bag designs have started to go downhill a little.
I'm not really feeling them if I'm being honest.
As long as the products are good, I don't really mind the lack of design too much though.
Alright, let's break down what's inside:
-Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Lid Primer in "Light"
-Context Skin Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream
-Luna by Luna Cosmetics Lip Crayon in "Elara"
-It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder
-Hey Honey Trick AND Treat: Active Propolis Cream Concealer
-Peach and Lily Soothe & Restore Sheet Mask
First up is this
I used to use a lid primer from Urban Decay for ages, but ever since I ran out, I sort of just stopped using one.
Although I haven't had a chance to try this one out yet, I do like the applicator that it comes with.
Even though it's a travel size, I feel like it will last me a while.
($21 for full size)
Next we have this Vitamin C Eye Cream
I've never heard of this brand before,
but I don't mind it.
My eye bags need all the moisture they can get.
The formula isn't too thick, and I find it to be quite hydrating.
(retail price $35)
Next we have this pretty
I was excited to try more stuff from this brand because I have been obsessed with one of their highlighters, but I was disappointed in this particular product.
The shade is very pretty, like a bubblegum pink almost, but the formula just didn't work for me.
I generally don't like lip crayons because I don't find them to be long lasting, and they smudge and transfer on everything it seems like.
When I tried it on, the color went on a bit patchy and clung to all of the dry patches on my lips.
It was not a pretty sight.
If only a could get this shade in a matte or liquid lipstick, I'd be happier.
(retail price $18)
Next is this
I haven't had a chance to properly try it out yet, but it's got some raving reviews,
so I'm excited for it.
It'll be my first time trying out a pressed translucent powder vs. a loose powder.
I really like the fact that it also claims to be anti-aging.
($29 for full size)
Next is this concealer from Hey Honey.
I was surprised to see they have makeup products, because I thought they only had skincare.
I was expecting a concealer that was too dark and too yellow for me, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The color matched me perfectly.
Although I would have loved to get something a tad bit lighter just for the brightening effect, I'll take what I can get.
It's suited for dry skin, so I know I'll be using this all winter long.
($36 for full size)
You might be wondering how I received an extra product, so I'll tell you.
If you're not familiar with Ipsy,
they have a rewards program.
For every product you review from your bag, you can collect points, which you can then
redeem for free products.
I had a bunch of points that I had been saving for something, but was forced to use some of them because they were expiring, so I ended up choosing this sheet mask.
(retail price $6)
And that concludes what's in this month's Ipsy bag.
What did you get in yours?
What was your favorite product?
Overall, I would rate the bag a 4/5 this month.
If you're new to IPSY, it's a $10/month subscription service where you receive
4-5 beauty samples each month.
If you'd like to check out it out for yourself, you can do so HERE.
