I am typically not a fan of most drugstore lipsticks, and I've always been iff-ey on Revlon products in general,
but the price on these was too good to pass up, so I decided to give them a chance.
By them, I mean the Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipsticks.
I ended up copping 2 shades,
and although they look similar in the photo,
you can notice the difference in color from the swatches I'll show you later.
The first shade is called "002 Pink Pout".
And the second shade is "012 Sky Pink".
Aside from the pretty colors and chic black and gold packing, what really drew me in was the price.
These babies were discounted down to a dollar and some change, so they were practically free.
The real question is- are they worth buying?
Let's take a look at some swatches:
Ok, so they swatch pretty nicely,
and although they claim to be matte,
they felt quite moisturizing.
So far so good...
So then I proceeded to do a lip test, and I was extremely disappointed.
I immediately thought to myself,
"I knew it! I should have listened to my gut and not bought these..."
Hunty, when I put these on my lips, it was a straight up hot mess!
They went on completely patchy and clung to dry skin that wasn't even there.
The color payoff was terrible, which is a shame, because with just a bit of tweaking to the formula,
they could have looked quite nice.
Since they did seem quite moisturizing,
I could already tell that they would slide around on the lips and transfer to anything and everything I put my mouth on.
I want my $2 back...
