Since I've been gone, I haven't reviewed any of my Ipsy bags for the past
who knows how many months.
Would anyone even want to see them at this point? Should I even bother reviewing them on here or just forget about it?
Let a sista know.
My August glam bag actually arrived in August, so I wanted to get it up as quickly as possible.
As always, I have to chime in with my 2 cents about the bag design, and once again,
yo girl is disappointed.
Is it just me or do they keep getting uglier and uglier?
I've reached this weird point where I have so much makeup from Ipsy that I don't even think I can use it all up, but at the same time, it's only $10, so I can't bring myself to cancel lol.
Anyone feel me on that, or is it just me?
Let's break down what's inside:
First thing we have is a serum from Tony Moly,
one of my favorite K-beauty brands.
I own a lot of skincare products from this brand, including a sleeping pack from this same "Black Tea" line, so I'm sure this will be just as good.
It's also perfect to take with me when I travel. Compared to other products I've received in the past, this one has quite a generous amount of product in it, so 5 points for Gryffindor.
(currently $34.40 for full size on sale)
Next we have an eye cream from an up and coming
K-beauty brand called Answer From.
2 K-beauty products in one bag???
I live for eye creams, and go through them fairly quickly because a sista isn't getting any younger, so I can't wait to try this out.
Another 5 points for Gryffindor.
(couldn't find a link or price yet)
Next we have a blush/highlighter brush from Crown, and I'm always down for that.
It seems a bit more dense than some other ones I have, so I feel like this will
really make a highlight pop.
Keep 'em coming Ipsy.
The more brushes I get, the less frequently I have to keep washing them lol.
5 more points for Gryffindor.
(currently on sale for $5.17)
Next up we have a mascara from a brand that's new to me called Thrive Causemetics.
Also known as as the Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara, it claims to lengthen and provide volume.
Something that I thought was cool is that for every mascara purchased, one is donated to
"help a woman thrive."
Thanks to Ipsy, I've had a chance to try out a lot of high end mascaras, so I'm able to determine what's worth actually spending money on
and what's trash.
Mascaras tend to dry out fairly quickly, so in my opinion it's never worth buying a full size. I'd rather get these smaller sizes that I know I'm going to use up, and not have a mascara
lying around for years.
Another 5 points for Gryffindor.
($24 for full size)
Last, but not least, we have this highlighter from Ciate London in "Moondust."
The color isn't coming off properly in the photo, but it's more of a pinky champagne shade with tiny specks of glitter in it.
I want to be excited,
but I legit have so many highlighters now.
Although I do think that it will be pretty on those days when you don't want a crazy blinding highlight but more of a healthy glow.
I'm excited to try it out the next time I have a "glass skin" makeup day.
4 points for Gryffindor...
($32 for full size)
And that concludes what's in this month's bag.
Overall, I would rate the bag a 4.5/5 this month.
If you're new to IPSY, it's a $10/month subscription service where you receive
4-5 beauty samples each month.
If you'd like to check out it out for yourself, you can do so HERE.
